Contracts / Project Manager
SALARY & PACKAGE:
£35000 - £45000 – Fuel Allowance + Benefits
POSSIBLE LOCATION OF CANDIDATES:
Brentwood, Basildon, Southend, London
THE ROLE:
Working for an established and still growing company you will be managing and ensuring projects are managed coherently until completion within strict time frames.
The main office is based in Essex where you will spend most of your time completing paperwork and managing the project process. 25% of the time you will be out visiting sites to ensure everything is being completed as planned to client specification.
Using your previous knowledge of steelwork and experience completing structural steel work projects you will be able to deliver on time and ensure high standards are met every time.
Typically you will have 3-4 projects at any one time and because of this you will have superb organisational ability along with the key skills outlined below.
THE CANDIDATE:
Essentially all candidates must have structural steel frame work experience and be a project manager, contracts manager or even an experienced site manager who is able to see projects through to completion. You will ideally have experience with architectural metalwork and steelwork construction projects including ballustrades, staircases and supporting structural work.

Based in Great Yarmouth, the successful candidate will improve and maintain the company’s “zero mistakes environment”. Prospective applicants will have previous Quality Assurance experience in a fabrication and welding industry or similar. Knowledge of quality systems such as Just-in-Time, Kaizen, SPC and Six Sigma is essential as is the ability to drive and demand a “complete quality” environment from the whole organisation. You will have a thorough knowledge of Quality Management Systems and of manufacturing and quality technologies. A good understanding of Lean principles and their application in a manufacturing business including Just-in-Time, Kaizen, SPC and Six Sigma. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Our client specialises in the fabrication, erection and protective treatment of high quality steelwork for landmark bridges, highway bridges, railway bridges, footbridges, sign gantries, monopiles, and other heavy structures. They are looking for a Operation Manager for their site in Lydney which is a highly automated site manufacturing bridges for the world.
Primary Purpose
• Manages the overall performance of the factory
• Is accountable for converting the order demand into effective work schedules for the factory
• Is accountable for the cost performance of the team
• Demonstrates clear leadership across all disciplines under his/her direct control
Main Responsibility:
• Is accountable for the planning material scheduling and local buying activities for the factory.
• Ensure effective internal communications both within the team and across the organization
• Maintain clear organizational structure, highlighting and updating individual’s responsibilities as they arise.
• Work with the senior management team, to co-ordinate agreed strategies for the future development of the business.
• To work with internal and external support to improve /automate all data input/outputs.
• Promoting and working within a Health & Safety conscious environment, as outlined in

• Ensure that you and your team are fully compliant with business ethics and conduct policy.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

Our client Doncaster Based Steel Fabricators: Fencing, Gates and Security Gates.
Due to an increasing order book they are looking to recruit an experienced Works Manager.
Candidates must possess man management skills and must have had previous managerial / supervisory experience
As a Works Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of this Fabrication plant, along with staff on shift, machinery and site facilities.
You will also be required to help drive the business forward, developing production methods where possible whilst being budget and cost effective.
Applicants MUST have a strong background within a fabrication shop, with a proven track history of success within production management.
Experience with fancy iron work, etc an advantage.
