Design Engineer

My client, one of the UK’s largest, multifaceted consultancies delivering property and infrastructure projects on a local, national and international scale, is looking for a Intermediate / Senior Structural Design Engineer.

My client has a healthy order book and is looking to recruit a senior design engineer to work on a variety of educational projects. The ideal candidate needs to be proficient in the design of structural steel. Candidates must have a strong and extensive structural engineering track record, ideally 8 years + however candidates with less will still be looked at. Candidates should ideally be Chartered but it isn't necessary and be able to run projects on their own.

Your design capabilities will include Standard design codes, TEDDS - CSC, S-Frame, fastrak etc.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:
My client requires a Senior Structural (Steelwork) Designer to work on drawings (2D AutoCAD) for steel structures for a gas plant for Trinidad. You will be responsible to the Project Lead CSA Engineer for delivery of the work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The work involves detailing steel structures for AISC LRFD code.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The successful candidate ideally will be an experienced Structural Designer with a number of year’s experience of similar projects and will have the ability to detail steelwork and connections in accordance with AISC codes.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
HNC or similar

Applicants must have experience in the general industrial, chemical or hydrocarbon fields and must have a good practical structural background.

Our client is a global name in the engineering industry and is currently looking for a Structural Design Engineer with experience of complex industrial, energy or heavy civil projects, incorporating steelwork design.

The successful candidate will ideally have 4-5 yrs PQE, in structural engineering and have experience of complex structural steelwork design.
