Based in the West Midlands, our client is a long established and growing structural steelwork fabricator who now requires a Project Manager. The company design and fabricate a wide range of steelwork structures and projects with typical structures being 150 to 300 tonnes.
Role / Duties:
Direct involvement in the development and maintenance of the project program throughout the life span of the project from award to handover.
Working with and supporting the company Directors with the co-ordination and management of the program in all aspects.
Liaising with all relevant departmental colleagues, i.e. the AP, Site and Workshop managers etc in respect of the program, including the consideration and consequence to the project program of any delays due to RFI’s, variations, site conditions, material delivery etc. Co-ordinate with all departments for any consequential changes to the program and re-schedule accordingly.
Helping the drawing / design office in chasing lacking detailed information required, i.e. via Rafi’s to engineers, architects etc. and co-ordinating effects accordingly.
Communicating with sub-contractors to ensure project program is maintained.
Attend internal and external project meetings as required.
Experience working within the structural steelwork industry is essential – a minimum of 5 years’ experience is required.
Previous experience working for a steel fabricator or engineering company associated with steel as a Project or Contract Manager.
Experienced steelwork professionals such as drawing office section leaders, experienced draughtsmen etc. may also be considered who wish to become a Project Manager and develop their career further.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Be able to multi task, dealing with numerous project matters at once, remaining focused on the program at all times.
Excellent organizational and management skills required.
Full UK driving license essential.
This is a full time, permanent PAYE position.
Salary - £40k - £50k D.O.E.
