We act on behalf of our client, based in the West Midlands; they are a well-established specialist steelwork fabricator and supplier of Architectural Steelwork and Metalwork including Balustrades, Staircases, Handrails and secondary steelwork, from design through to fabrication, site delivery and erection.

Due to continued growth, and a full order book, they now require an experienced Steelwork Fabricator/Welder.

About the Candidate

The successful candidate must have previous experience of working within a steelwork fabrication company, fabricating items such as those listed above, with experience working on conventional structural steelwork being an advantage. However, experience working on the Architectural side of Steelwork / Metalwork such as Staircases, Handrails etc. is essential.

Competent in both Mig and Tig welding.

Able to read and interpret drawings accurately.

To perform a range of welding systems and metal cutting techniques, whilst adhering to conformance and welding processes.

To work independently and as part of a team.

Set up and operate machinery associated with fabrication/welding.

A good understanding of health & safety procedures in a workshop environment.

Hardworking, punctual and reliable.

Willing to work overtime when required.

About the Role

The company is a very busy forward thinking company that offers rewarding careers to successful applicants set within a friendly work environment.

The role will be permanent day work with overtime available. Basic working hours are Monday – Thursday 8am – 4.30pm and Friday 8am – 2pm.

Good hourly rates paid as well as paid overtime.

Candidates will be asked to perform a weld test as part of the interview and application process.
